New Jersey Notary Requirements and Information

New Jersey Notary Commission Qualifications
Notary applicants must:
� be at least 18 years old;
� be a resident of the state of New Jersey or a resident of a bordering state that is regularly employed in the state of New Jersey;
� not have been convicted of a crime under the laws of any land or the United States, for an criminal offense involving dishonesty, or a crime of the showtime or second caste.

Constructive Oct 20, 2021, New Jersey requires the use of an "official postage" that is a physical paradigm affixed to or embossed on a tangible (paper) document. An ink stamp or embossing seal may be used and MUST exist photographically reproducible.

Authorized Duties
� Oaths/affirmations;
� verifications on oath or affirmation;
� acknowledgments and proofs;
� witness or adjure signatures;
� certify safe deposit box contents;
� certify/attest a copy or deposition (including certifying that a tangible copy of an electronic record is an accurate re-create of the electronic record);
� annotation protests.
